Final Presidential debate.

Watching this debate and finally see John McCain push Senator Obama on key items to do with his judgment in choosing friends and political organizations like ACORN on taxes or wealth redistribution, foreign relations, energy dependence and health care issues. God help us of Barry is elected because our country is going to go broke trying to pay for all the entitlements and promises.

Rainy Saturday

Man looks like this weekend is a washout.  Got a bunch of rain the last two days and it is threatening again today.  Will have to hang out with the family.  Took Cecelia bowling and had a great time.  We then met Dani at Chic-fil-a for lunch.  Dani and Cece went to run a couple quick errands and I went home to watch the Illini play football.  The unfortunately they lost to Minnesota 27 to 20.  They looked uninspired after their big win over Michigan last weekend.  Georgia was hosting Tennesse in Athens and Dani and I watched that game.  Georgia dominated Tennesse and other than an interception that was turned into a touchdown in the 3rd quater to move Tennesee close the game was quickly put away.

New setup looks good

Well after spending a couple of nights getting the site back up and running.  A big thanks to google for caching older posts so that I was able to recover a few of my previous posts.

Trying out new Themes

Ok after uploading 7 different golf themes I am going to have to choose one sooner or later.  The other problem I am running into is that on my production computer I have a 24" monitor so they all look good.  Then I go to my laptop and the layout doesn't look quite right.  I am just going to have to keep googling for other options or jut deal with it.

Palin for President!

I watched her speech last night and I can say that I am drinking the cool-aid. I wish that she was the one running for President but more than happy to support her and her running mate.

Wilson Staff Golf - Thank You!

I registered at Wilson Staff’s website to try out their new golf balls.  I do like the their new 3 piece Zips.  Not a Callaway Tour Ix or Pro V1 replacement but great on windy days as it has less spin off the driver for me.

I received an email from Wilson Staff’s customer service yesterday:

Congratulations!  You’ve won a very special and one-of-a-kind autographed Wilson Staff Cap by 2008 Open Champion Padraig Harrington!  We had over 5,000 people sign up for this give-away over the course of 3 weeks.

I hope you were able to watch Paddy defend his title last weekend at Royal Birkdale.  Padraig is the first European to win The Open back-to-back since 1906 by James Braid.  Even with a wrist injury and typical Open weather conditions, Padraig is a very hard-worker and makes every shot count, which you witnessed.  His victory marks his second career major win and Wilson’s 60th, the most majors won by any manufacturer in all of golf’s history.
I’ve attached some supporting material that gives you more information about Padraig and his win.

  • The official US press release

  • Transcript from Padraig’s press conference (please note the comments he made on specific shots and products he used)

  • Image of Padraig with the Claret Jug

I hope you take a moment and check out the newest products on our website and stay tuned later this fall (August) for the launch of 2009 Wilson Golf products.
Please give 4-6 weeks for delivery of the autographed cap.
On behalf of Padraig and the Wilson Golf Team worldwide, we thank you for your support!  Let’s keep those majors rolling in as Wilson Staff Tour Players seek 61!
Best regards,
Mary Nguyen

I received it in the mail today!  I will have to post pictures.

Club's Match Play Championship

Our match play tournament is 2 days 5 matches.  On Saturday I shot 42, 42, 39.  My first for ever breaking 40 on 9 holes!  I was pumped.  I had the flight lead after the first day.

Sunday different story couldn’t seem to get it going had what seemed a months worth of bad luck all at the same time.  I shot 44, 50 and ended up third in my flight.  I was trying to have fun but it seemed like I always had the a tough shot or tried the wrong shot for the situation.  No focus, bad bounces and always playing from the rough or bunkers just tore me up today.

The new Tour iX from Callaway rocks though.  Love the ball versus my goto which is the Titlest Pro V1.

4th of July red, white & blue Flag tournament

My neighbor Jeff and I were partners.  The format is 6 from the blue tees, 6 from the white tees and 6 from the red tees.  We started on hole 17 both had pars.  I was in the trash on the next 2 holes but my partner picked me up.  On hole #8 which is a par5 5 played the forward or red tee markers hit a high tee shot through the trees protecting the right front side of the fairway got a huge bounce and had 115 to the pin.  Hit my approach iron to about 2′ and eagled the hole!  I carded a net 2 with handicap.  On 10 hit my drive into the trees / hazard on the right side found it in a small clearing chipped out which left me 140 to the pin.  Hit my 8 iron to about 30′ leaving a twister for par.  I rammed the putt home for par.  It wasn’t pretty but effective.  Jeff holed about a 35′ putt on 12 for another eagle net double eagle.   On hole 13 played the forwards again and this time I striped my drive right down the middle leaving 82 yards to the pin.  Little sand wedge to about 12′ and this putt was straight into the hole for birdie!  We were in the clubhouse at 65 net 54.  We were the winners an of course heard the sandbagger calls from the peanut gallery.  It was great fun!
